Derrick Wynn of Darien earns academic honor at North Central College

Derrick Wynn of Darien was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Communication Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Wynn is a senior majoring in speech communication with a minor in philosophy at North Central College. He has been accepted to Worsham College in Wheeling where he will study mortuary science. He is the son of Robert and Susan Wynn and is a 2008 graduate of Downers Grove South High School.

He is a broadcaster for WONC-FM 89.1, North Central’s award-winning, student-run radio station. His name regularly appears on the Dean’s List, which recognizes students with high academic achievement.
