Burglar Tunnels into Jimmy John’s through Hole in the Wall

The offender entered via a hole between Jimmy John's and a vacant storefront next door, police said.

A burglar entered Jimmy John’s, 2445 W. 75th St., around 3 a.m. Friday through a hole in the wall between it and a vacant storefront, Darien police said.

Officers went to the restaurant in response to a motion-sensing alarm, which the manager believes scared off the intruder. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Detective Sgt. Steven Reed said at this time it is unclear how the offender got into the neighboring storefront. He declined to release any further information pending the investigation.

Anyone with information relating to the incident should contact the Detective Division at 630-971-3999.
