Darien Mom Cited After Teen Party at Her House
Numerous teens were arrested for drinking. Police said one tried to run and another was driving on the wrong side of the street when leaving the party.
A Darien mom was cited for parental responsibility after a number of juveniles were arrested for underage drinking after a party that took place at her home Nov. 24.
Mary Ann Mungo, 52, of the 1900 block of Darien Club Drive in Darien, was cited at 1:12 a.m. following a party at her home. Numerous juveniles were cited for underage consumption of alcohol, and three 18-year-olds were also charged.
Police spotted one of the 18-year-olds driving on the wrong side of the road in the 1300 block of Darien Club Drive. The driver, Anthony M. Towler, 18, of the 7000 block of Lyman in Downers Grove, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol and improper lane use. His court date is pending.
Another man, 18-year-old Matthew C. Stein, of the 100 block of Linden in Elmhurst, tried running from the party, police said.
Police said Stein threw one can of beer over a fence and had two more cans of beer on him after officers caught up to him during a short foot chase. He was charged with underage consumption of alcohol and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. His court date is also pending.
Brianna N. Basic, 18, of the 6700 block of nearby Bentley Avenue, was walking home from the party in the 1800 block of McAdam when she was stopped by police.
According to the report, Basic smelled like alcohol and was also found with a false Illinois ID card. She was charged with underage consumption of alcohol and unlawful use of a driver's license and has a pending court date.
