Footprints in the Snow Lead Police to Burglary Suspect
The tracks led from a home on Iroquois to a residence on Greenbriar, where police said they found the missing items.
A Darien man was arrested and charged with residential burglary Tuesday after officers tracked footprints in the snow leading from the burglarized home to his residence, Darien police said in a release Thursday.
A resident of a home on the 1200 block of Iroquois Lane called police around 4:19 a.m. after being woken up by a loud noise, police said. The front and garage doors of the home were open, and a 46” LCD TV and Wii video game had been taken, police said.
The suspect had apparently raised the garage door with an opener that was in an unlocked car parked in the driveway, police said.
Officers tracked footprints leading from the house on Iroquois into a home on the 1200 block of Greenbriar Lane, police said.
After obtaining a search warrant, police said they found the TV and Wii inside the home of Sergio Nunez, 20.
Nunez was charged with one count of residential burglary and one count of criminal trespass. He was taken to DuPage County Jail where he remains on $25,000 bond.
Darien police weren’t immediately available to provide further details.
