Funeral Services Announced for Slain Woodridge Woman

Alyssa Van Meter died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. She was 25.

 

Woodridge resident Alyss Van Meter was a tow truck driver who loved helping others, friends say. 

She died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. She was 25. 

Her ex-boyfriend is charged with her murder, and he is being held in DuPage County Jail without bond. 

Friends of Van Meter's have set up a Facebook memorial page to remember her, and funeral arrangements were posted there.

A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Hallowell and James Funeral Home, 301 75th street, Downers Grove, IL 60515. 

Services will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22. 

There will also be a tow truck procession Saturday that will depart from Hallowell and James and go to the gates of Trisons Crematory, 919 N. Garfield, Lombard, IL. The procession will disperse at the gates of the crematory, according to the Facebook page.

Friends have also set up a memorial fund in Alyssa's name. The account is at Wells Fargo and the routing number is 063107513, and the account Acct Number is 6766669508. Online transfers are also accepted.

Not a good idea to put all of the bank info online like you did. Now scammers can hack the account!!

Alyssa rest in total peace you are safe now. i do miss seeing your smile on our patio when you stoped with Ryan. you where very quiet and shy when you where here. i miss Ryan bringing his friends over but maybe with summer on its way we will see more of his friends and your friends. god be with you always. there's one more angel and thats you. i know you made my son Ryan very happy to be such a dear friend.
