'Happy Meal': Pot Brownie Found at McDonald's, Police Say
Police found a baggie of marijuana and a pot brownie on two separate people at the Darien McDonald's in Plainfield Road.
McDonald's is known for its Happy Meals, but one Darien resident is charged with taking that concept a bit too far.
Darien police said they were called to the McDonald's in the 800 block of Plainfield Road in reference to a drug deal inside the restaurant at 10:17 p.m. Jan. 24.
Nicholas Colonna, 18, of the 7900 block of Glen Lane in Darien, was charged with possession of marijuana and delivery of marijuana. Police said they found marijuana in a small plastic bag on Colonna when he was sitting inside his car.
Laura Zaliauskas, 33, of the 1500 block of Lakeview Drive in Darien, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment. Zaliauskas, wearing a McDonald's sweatshirt, was in possession of a "cannabis brownie," police said.
She also had a glass pipe for smoking weed on her, according to the police report.
Colonna and Zaliauskas were both processed and given court dates in Downers Grove.
