OMG PD: Nativities Decapitated, Giant Teddy Bear Stolen

LA GRANGE

Teddy Bear Theft 

A “large teddy bear” was reported stolen at 4:45 p.m. from the front of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. A 17-year-old La Grange Park boy and a 16-year-old La Grange boy were detained at the corner of East and Lincoln avenues at 12:24 a.m. on Monday after being found in possession of the bear, police said, but claimed to have found the item and were not charged. The bear was returned to the store at 10:41 a.m. on Monday.

Exposure or Bathroom Break? 

A citizen reported a man at the corner of La Grange Road and Cossitt Avenue “exposing himself” at 3:04 p.m. When police located him, the man denied the claim and said he had just been using a nearby bathroom.

DOWNERS GROVE

Nativity Figure Decapitated

The head of a Joseph statue was broken off and stolen from a Christmas nativity scene in the 5200 block of Grand Avenue, police said.

The incident happened sometime between noon on Jan. 5 and 7 p.m. on Jan. 7, according to the homeowner.

LA GRANGE PARK

Another Nativity Decapitation

The head of "a nativity-scene figure" was removed from the front yard of a home on the 1100 block of East 31st Street overnight. The cost of the theft was estimated at less than $500.

BURR RIDGE

You're Fired

An employee at Brookhaven Marketplace, 100 Burr Ridge Pkwy., was fired after the store told police at 1:34 p.m. that the employee stole a panini sandwich. No arrest was made, police said.

WOODRIDGE

Fire Extinguisher Stolen

Someone stole a fire extinguisher from a hallway in a building in the 7300 block of Woodward Avenue. Police said the theft occurred between 6 p.m. Dec. 29 and 6 a.m. Dec. 30.

We lost our daughter over 15yrs ago, and not a day goes by that she is not in our thouhts and in our hearts, keep your children close, give them a hug and kiss, tell them you are proud of them.
