'Paris Wife' Author Paula McLain to Appear at Ashton Place
McLain's novel was this year's Big Read selection.
Indian Prairie and other local libraries will cap off a month of French-themed activities Thursday with a visit from author Paula McLain to Ashton Place, 341 75th Street in Willowbrook.
McLain's novel The Paris Wife was this year's Big Read selection. The Big Read is a program that unites local readers with a series of events related to a single book.
During Thursday's program, which begins at 7 p.m., McLain will discuss the motivation and research that went into writing The Paris Wife. The book is a fictionalized account of Hadley Richardson's marriage to Ernest Hemingway as the couple moves to Paris and becomes immersed in the world of Gertrude Stein and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
