Police Blotter: 4AM Gas Stop Leads to DUI for Minor

Darien police reports, Dec. 18.

 

A Downers Grove teen was charged with a DUI after trying to get gas after 4 a.m. in Darien. 

Christopher Ullrich, 18, of the 7100 block of Matthias Road in Downers Grove, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal consumption by a minor and driving without insurance. 

At 4:14 a.m. Dec. 18, Darien police investigated a suspicious car that was parked at a gas pump at the Speedway gas station in the 8300 block of Lemont Road in Darien. 

Ullrich was in the car and failed field sobriety tests, police said. He was arrested and given a court date.

4am? I thought nothing happened after 2am in the City of Darien.
