Refresh your home and garden for the summer with two bargain-filled sales this weekend in Darien. 

A Caring Place Humane Society, a Westmont-based animal rescue organization, will be holding its annual garage sale Friday and Saturday at 217 Holly Ave. in Darien. 

Browse furniture, kitchen supplies, toys and even a fire pit, all reasonably priced to help benefit animals in need. The sale runs from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. both days. 

If it’s your garden that needs a little sprucing up, head out to the Darien Park District Garden Club Plant Sale Saturday at Indian Prairie Public Library.

The plants are truly local, having been dug from club members’ own gardens in Darien. Offerings include perennials, annuals, vegetables and herbs.

Club members will also be on hand to answer questions and give garden-related advice. The sale serves as a fundraiser for the club, as well as scholarships it offers to area high school and college students. 

The plant sale runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., rain or shine.
