Live With A Masterpiece

Students at Mark DeLay worked on their artistic skills over the summer by participating in the “Live With a Masterpiece” art challenge!  Before school was out at the end of May first grade students could “check out” an art print to live with over the summer vacation.  Students were encouraged to make their own artwork inspired by their print.  Artists could work alone or with their family to create a masterpiece.  At the beginning of this school year students have been turning in their checked out print along with their artwork to be put on display.  Students have turned in everything from sculptures, drawings, and paintings!  This project was made possible by a $1000 grant from Target!  I am very proud of all of my students who have participated in the “Live With a Masterpiece” Art Challenge!  Thank you to all of the families who have worked with and encouraged the young artists!
