Chamber President Prepares for Spin in Local 'Dancing With the Starz' Fundraiser

Clare Bongiovanni is preparing for dance debut in local 'Dancing With the Starz' benefit for DuPage Senior Citizens Council this Saturday.

Darien’s own Clare Bongiovanni will be tripping the light fantastic as prepares for her spin around the ballroom floor for Dancing with the Starz – A Blockbuster Gala.

Bongiovanni is the president and CEO of the Darien Chamber of Commerce and will represent the chamber on May 10 at the fundraiser for the DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) at Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace.

Bongiovanni has been spending time at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Burr Ridge preparing for her dancing debut.  Local celebrities partner with professionals from the dance studio and guests will vote for their favorite dance pair.  

Other celebrities are small business owners, non-profit managers, firemen, a former Chicago Bear, and radio and television personalities.

The blockbuster gala features hors d’oeuvres and open bar, a fabulous dinner, a spectacular live auction, the dance competition, Fred Astaire national dance champions, surprise guests, and a chance to win a dream vacation and $1,000 raffle. Guests will have the chance to vote for their favorite dancers.

Dancing With the Starz -- A Blockbuster Gala takes place from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 10 in the Grand Ballroom at Drury Lane, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace.

The DuPage Senior Citizens Council provides programs such as Meals on Wheels, home maintenance and well being checks that allow DuPage County seniors to remain healthy and independent.  

The Darien Chamber of Commerce provides members with business and personal development through networking, education and marketing opportunities. The Darien Chamber also connects local businesses with the community residents and governmental bodies.
