Papa Passero’s: Bites Nearby

Papa Passero's Family Pizzeria is a family-friendly place for good pizza and good times.

The charming history of Papa Passero’s in Westmont is an enticing  enough reason to visit.

The son of Italian immigrants and a WWII Navy gunner, William “Papa” Passero moved his family into a tri-level home on Cass Avenue in 1975.

Two years later, he opened a pizzeria in the same location as the family residence. His business grew, and soon it was necessary to move the Passero family elsewhere.

During each of his five expansions, Papa Passero incorporated original movie memorabilia and components from some historical and sentimental buildings in the Little Italy neighborhood where he was raised.

Passero’s homemade pizza, extended menu and community involvement has earned the restaurant a solid reputation. And throughout the years, good food and that old-family-friends feeling has remained this casual restaurant’s core mission.

Unfortunately Papa Passero passed away a few months ago and left behind his wife of 57 years and devoted family. His daughter Laura carried on his tradition with the help of family and dedicated staff, some of whom have been employees for decades.

Most of the more than 40 reviews of Papa Passero’s are positive. What customers seem to agree on is that this is a kid and family friendly place to visit. Large parties of up to 80 people can be accommodated and informal larger gatherings are welcome.

Pizza can be ordered carry out or for delivery, and there's a choice of crust and 29 different toppings. In addition, with a variety of more than 90 other entrees, salads and appetizers, there is something for everyone's tastebuds.

Papa Passero's offers Sunday brunch, lunch and dinner buffets, catering, banquets, Easter brunch and a special Lenten menu.
