Dancin' in the Stacks with The Neverly Brothers

On Saturday, November 5, from 6:30 – 10 p.m., the Indian Prairie Public Library will be hosting the IPPL Foundation event “Dancin’ in the Stacks” featuring music and dancing, food and drinks, and a costume contest.  The well-known band The Neverly Brothers will be the stars of the show with their energetic mix of music from the 50s, 60s and 70s.  There will be snacks and a cash bar.  Must be 21.

Tickets for the event are $10 before October 24 and will be $20 after that date, and at the door.  They may be purchased at the Checkout Desk of the library at 401 Plainfield Road in Darien during regular library hours.  Every ticket purchase will include an entry into a drawing for a free, engraved brick in the library’s Reading Garden.

“Our community is so supportive of the library,” said Crystal Megaridis, President of the IPPL Foundation, “that I expect this evening is going to be a great success.  I can just see groups of neighbors and friends coming to hear the music, have a night out that’s reasonably priced - and benefit the library.”

A contest for best costume of the 50s, 60s and 70s will be held during the evening with prizes for winners of each of the three categories.

Frequent performers at Chicagoland festivals and other venues, the Neverly Brothers’ concert set includes music from the 1950s Rockabilly genre through the 1960s British Invasion and beyond.  The music, fabulous in its own right, is made even better by the accompanying trivia and musical history that lead singer Kevin Giragosian provides throughout the show.  Their music selection follows the evolution of rock n roll through Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, The Dave Clark Five and The Kinks.

Kevin, who sings and plays guitar and harmonica, is joined by his brother Kegham, drummer and singer, and Craig Gigstad who sings and plays the upright bass fiddle.
