Loyola's Darien Health Center Moves to Burr Ridge Location

Move has been planned since early March; new center expects to see 150,000 patients a year.

The Darien outpost of Loyola University Health System closed Tuesday as staff and physicians prepared to move to a new location in Burr Ridge, Loyola officials said.

Starting Monday, the general practitioners and pediatricians from the will be integrated into the larger Burr Ridge facility, said Administrative Director Cheryl White.

The move has been in the works since the Burr Ridge center opened in early March, White said. The center, which expects to see 150,000 patients this year, already houses specialties such as neurology and orthopedics.

“Primary care fits with it,” White said. “We’ll have consistency across specialties and primary care.”

In total, about 20 staff members, of whom about five or six are doctors, will be shifting from Darien to Burr Ridge, White said. Loyola has been in its Darien location in the Chestnut Court shopping center at 7511 Lemont Road for more than 12 years, she said.
