Home Helpers of Hinsdale hires Director of Medical Services

Tina Figueroa, RN, of Westchester has joined Home Helpers of Hinsdale as the home care company’s Director of Medical Services.

The position is new to the Hinsdale company and key to its venture into providing in-home medical services to its clients.

Since 2005 Home Helpers of Hinsdale has provided competent, compassionate non-medical care for seniors, those recovering from illness or surgery, new mothers and anyone in need of assistance. With the acquisition of its home nursing license, Home Helpers now provides such services as medication set-up, wound care, vital sign management, injections, Coumadin level checks and other assistance in the client’s home.

“There is a need for it,” said Figueroa, a registered nurse with nine years of nursing experience.

Figueroa has worked at Plymouth Place in LaGrange Park for five years, where she ran the community’s medical clinic, providing many of the services that now will be offered through Home Helpers.

Mary Doepke, RN, owner of Home Helpers of Hinsdale, said the addition of private pay medical services will greatly expand the ways in which Home Helpers can help its clients.

“Over the years we have noticed that our non-medical clients often find themselves in need of more skilled help. They will now be able to get it from a company they already know and trust,” Doepke said. “We are very excited to have Tina join our staff.”
