Girl Scouts and Rotary Helping Kids

On Tuesday, April 22, the Darien Rotary Club and Girl Scout Troops 1479 and 50269 assembled at Darien Safety Village for the final backpack loading of this school year.  This program, funded by the Rotary Club and local donations, provides food to approximately 100 area children who would otherwise not have breakfast and lunch during the weekend.

Over 30 girls and over 6 parents joined the Rotary club in the packing.  Both troops consist of District 61 students - 1479 are 3rd graders and 50269 are 4th graders and all attend Lace School.

Although this is the last packing for this school year, the Darien Rotary Club will restart the program in September for the 2014-2015 school year.  For more information or to donate, please visit www.darienrotaryclub.org
