Concord Students Discover WeatherBug

For Immediate Release

The new Concord Elementary School science lab is being put to excellent use by the students this year with the addition of the WeatherBug station secured through a very generous grant from the Cass 63 Foundation for Educational Excellence. The grant, written by fourth grade teacher Mrs. Karen Mosquera, included a permanent transmitter installed on the school roof as well as the necessary WeatherBug software. Students are able to track the weather through live radar, look up weather conditions throughout the world, and learn about concepts such as barometric pressure, wind speed, humidity, and wind chill.  In addition, there is a permanent monitor screen in the lab displaying the latest weather conditions as well as WeatherBug applications on the student iPads.
