The Our Lady of Peace School 7A boys volleyball team clinched first place in the DPL Large School Division finishing the season undefeated 12 - 0. This extraordinary seventh grade boy’s team includes Sean Becker, Ryan Carli, Jake Ecklund, Cyril Kumpuckal, Marc Maju, Jonny Mitra, Casey O'Brien, Aidan Samsa, Anthony Sennett and Max Swenson. Maju and Carli contributed to the team's high kill record with assists from Mitra, Becker and Kumpuckal. Top servers were Becker, Maju and Mitra. Back row defense from O’Brien, Sennett and Ecklund was critical all season. In addition, new players Samsa, Swenson and Ecklund contributed to the team's success. According to their coach, Marie Becker, three years of hard work and dedication brought them this first place title. She hopes to continue their success in post season, determined to bring back the first place championship trophy on November 10. Becker added she thanks all the fans that have come out to support the team including parents, grandparents, OLP students and faculty. The championship game will be held at St. Michael's Catholic School in Wheaton on Sunday, November 10 at 4 pm.
