Darien Pantry Sells $100,000-Winning Scratch Ticket to Darien Man

Richard Huse was the lucky winner of the highest possible prize of the "50x the Cash" scratch ticket, one day before leaving for vacation.

One day before leaving for his vacation in Mexico, Darien resident Richard Huse hit the jackpot this week when his once-a-week scratch ticket—a “50x the Cash” bought at his regular haunt, Darien Pantry—hit the jackpot, winning the ticket’s top prize of $100,000 .

“I rushed to turn in my winning ticket because I didn’t want to leave a $100,000 winner in my house while I was away on vacation,” Huse said in an Illinois Lottery press release.

“This was the first time I ever tried this ticket. I really couldn’t believe I won.”
