Darien Residents More Likely to Eat Fast Food

A survey found Darien residents eat more fast food lunches than the average American.

Where do you chow down for lunch most often? If you're from Darien, you're more likely than the average American to eat fast food, according research published by Crain's Chicago Business.

Darien received an index score of 105, five points above the national index, which is 100. The score is based on the estimated demand for fast food in 2010, as determined by the data-mapping firm Esri.

Though Darien residents swing through a drive-through more often than the typical American, they're less likely to eat fast food at lunch than their neighbors in Woodridge and Downers Grove. Both received a score of 108, according to the data. Lemont came in at 107.
