The National Weather Service released a hazardous weather outlook Wednesday that predicts a 90 percent chance of snow, with several inches of accumulation possible through mid-morning Thursday.

Expect three to five inches of snow to fall between Rockford and Joliet, according to the National Weather Service. Other parts of the Chicago area can anticipate about one to three inches of accumulation.
