WESTERN SPRINGS—Man Charged with Indecent Solicitation after Online Chats with Police—The Joliet man communicated online with a Western Springs investigator that he thought was a 15-year-old girl. 

FOREST PARK——A community alert posted on a Chicago alderman's Facebook page helped police identify a suspect in two attacks.

BATAVIA—Fermilab Director: No Furloughs or Layoffs for Balance of Fiscal Year—Pier Oddone tells staff that he doesn’t “expect any issues” for the remaining part of this fiscal year. Fermilab is asking for flat funding in FY 2014.

WHEATON——A burglar had Spiderman-like moves when he scaled a building to break into a laundromat in Wheaton.

DARIEN—Woman Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Garbage Truck on I-55—A 65-year-old woman was struck around 2:41 p.m. Wednesday near Lemont Road in Darien, causing significant traffic delays on southbound I-55, police said.

LA GRANGE—Lyons Township Alumni Take National Club Volleyball Title: Q&A—Jason Dolinski and Sam Thimmig both played varsity volleyball at Lyons Township. They reunited on the U of I men’s club team this year and helped carry it to a national victory.
