Nodarse pleads guilty in triple murder; Darien confirms new police chief; and more.

Just a little more than a year and a half since the murders of Michael, Jeffrey and Lori Kramer, Jacob Nodarse pleaded guilty but mentally ill to gunning down the three family members in their Darien home. Nodarse now faces a minimum of 45 years in prison, with the possibility of a life sentence. Sentencing has been delayed until the trial of codefendant Johnny Borizov.

The city council voted to confirm as Darien’s new police chief, but the decision was not without controversy. Several aldermen used to select a chief, while Darien residents about Brown’s background.
