A debate over air conditioning got heated Monday during the District 86 School Board meeting. The estimated cost of anticipated infrastructure improvements at and is about $40 million, which includes the price of AC.

Though snow removal efforts continued throughout the week, Director Dan Gombac said major cleanup over the three days during and after the storm cost the city about $27,000. Darien had projected the storm would cost about $50,000, he said.

Author and activist Jodee Blanco spent a full day speaking to various groups in about the impact of bullying. Some students were so moved they immediately began an effort to befriend students who have a tough time at school.
