This Week: DarienFest; 10 Years After 9/11

Five things you need to know in Darien this week.

1. Get ready for DarienFest: The Chamber of Commerce’s annual festival runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tune in later this week to Patch’s full guide to the festivities. Also, stop by the Patch booth in the business expo Saturday for free goodies.

2. 10 Years Later: Throughout the week we’ll be running about the impact 9/11 had on Darien. We’ll also be bringing you a schedule of set for Sunday.

3. Labor Day reminders: Offices are closed and some services have switch days because of the holiday. Check out our list of this .

4. Vivint Gives Back Results: For those following the participation in the Vivint Gives Back Project, results from the contest will be streamed live at 3 p.m. Central time on the Vivint blog. The local group is for a $250,000 prize it will use for Angelman syndrome research.

5. Police Academy: , that is. There’s still time to sign up for the course that runs Sept. 14 through Dec. 14.
