Wet Snow, High Winds Possible Tuesday in Darien

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Tuesday morning and afternoon.

The National Weather Service winter storm watch now says high winds and snow are expected to begin Tuesday afternoon instead of Tuesday morning, as was reported Monday morning.

Several inches of snow are "probable," the storm watch reads, and wind gusts are expected to hit 40 mph.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for DuPage County, effective Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.

Wet snow, that could be heavy at times, mixed with sleet is possible Tuesday morning, affecting the rush-hour commute, and may continue through Tuesday afternoon.

Heavy snow and strong wind gusts as strong as 40 mph are expected near the Lake Michigan shore, reducing visibility and making for hazardous travel conditions, the National Weather Service says.

Lighter snow is expected Tuesday evening.

Weather.com's forecast for Hinsdale predicts 2-4 inches of snow accumulation Tuesday, a high of 34 degrees, and a night-time low of 32.
