Woodridge Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Plainfield Road in Darien

Police say vehicle collided with SUV Tuesday afternoon.

A Woodridge man was killed Tuesday after his motorcycle struck an SUV in front of the Speedway gas station near the intersection of Plainfield and Lemont Roads, Darien police said Wednesday.

William Pott, 51, of the 8200 block of Deerwood Court in Woodridge, was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he reportedly collided with the SUV around 4:30 p.m., according to the report issued by Deputy Police Chief John Cooper.

Paramedics took Pott to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where police said he was pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV, also from Woodridge, was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation and no other information is available at this time. Police have not cited anyone in the accident.
