“Given that women and girls carry the heaviest burdens of the African HIV pandemic, their lived experiences should be the starting point for any pedagogy of prevention.”   Author, researcher, assistant professor at Loyola University Chicago's Institute of Pastoral Studies, and graduate program director for the MA in Social Justice and Community Development, Melissa Browning’s research focuses primarily on sexual ethics and bioethics on the African continent. She is currently writing on Christian marriage in light of the African HIV and AIDS epidemic. Her book on this project, "Risky Marriage," will be published by Lexington Books (Rowman & Littlefield) later this year.
