Lace Elementary School Participates in Earth Day Expo at Jewel-Osco

Darien Jewel-Osco hosted an Earth Day Expo for customers and students from Lace Elementary School.

The Darien Jewel-Osco held an Earth Day Expo to highlight the company's efforts to protect the planet.  They hosted third through fifth grade students from Lace Elementary School "Go Green Club," a group headed by fifth grade teacher, Mr. Johnson.  Lace Elementary School is the first building in DuPage County to have a "green" roof.

These enthusiastic students participated in an interactive demonstration and were given reuseable goodie bags filled with information, games, pencils, seeds, and organic snacks.  In addition, the school was presented with a gardening kit filled with soil, tools, gloves, and perennials to plant on their school grounds.  The club enjoyed posing for a picture in front of the specially designed "Love Earth" display built by representatives of a vendor partner.
