Hey There, Folks! Darien Writer Premiering Debut Book At Worldcon!
A brief promotion for an aspiring new fantasy writer.
If you like fantasy, but don't like stories that are overly violent or gory, then Arthur Daigle's William Bradshaw: King of the Goblins is for you. The story centers around William Bradshaw, a young, unemployed college graduate, who is unwittingly Shanghaied into becoming the king of a realm full of misfit, mischievious goblins on the world known as Other Place.
Here is a brief description of the book: "There's a new King in town! That's the good news. The bad news is that Will Bradshaw has problems. He's new on the job but he's already made enemies with a fire-breathing dragon. His friends are not much better: goblins whose favorite pastime is messing things up, trolls with anger management issues, an over-achieving fire scepter, and an un-cooperative magic mirror.
Aside from that, all he has to worry about is a war. And that's the trouble. Throughout recorded history the goblins have never won a battle, let alone a war. But things are going to be different this time. William Bradshaw is determined to win, using every means at his disposal, including stealth, subterfuge, and exploding outhouses."*

Yes, you read that last part right. Exploding outhouses. Having personally read and helped edit this book, I can honestly say that it is thoroughly enjoyable for readers of all ages, and will keep you laughing.
The book is populated with an ensemble of memorable characters ranging from a quirky lawyer to a bomb-making goblin who loves making things explode to a princess with an unbearable attitude to a completely clueless villian.
