Our Lady of Peace School Eighth Grade Boys B Basketball Team Clinch Championship

Congratulations to the Our Lady of Peace School eighth-grade boys B basketball team for clinching the DuPage Parochial League championship Sunday by defeating the St. Mary of Gostyn Vikings 33 to 31 at Benet High School in Lisle.

Each member of this hard working Crusader team contributed to the victory. Alex Narsolis energized the team in the first quarter by sinking two three-point shots. St. Mary’s team gave it their all and took the lead at half time. Both teams fought hard in the third quarter with Vasily Guschin rebounding on both ends of the court to keep OLP within a shot or two of the lead.

With four minutes left in the game, Danny Savage sank two free throw shots to tie it up. Shawn Kumpuckal gave a stellar performance in the last minutes of the game, rebounding and stealing to keep the ball away from St. Mary’s Vikings. Narsolis’ steal with seven seconds left on the clock wrapped up the victory. Way to go boys!
