Our Lady of Peace Walk-A-Thon Sets the Pace for Service

Our Lady of Peace School Sets the Pace for Service

Our Lady of Peace School students are once again on the move preparing for the fourth annual OLP Walk-A-Thon. This fun and unique fundraising opportunity demonstrates students ability to serve others while learning about and celebrating service to their community. Each year, four local charities benefit from this highly anticipated school event that has raised roughly a total of $60,000 for the school and selected charities since its inception in 2009. This year’s charities include The Gift of Carl Foundation, Hanson Center (a Ray Graham organization), Turning Pointe Autism Foundation and The Mulliganeers.

A school pep rally kicks off the fundraiser and gives students an opportunity to learn about the charities. Each student chooses the charity they feel most interested in helping, raises money and plays an active role in making a difference by walking.

This year’s Walk-A-Thon takes place at the Darien Sportsplex on Friday, April 27. To learn more about Our Lady of Peace School, visit olopdarien.org or call 630/325-9220.
