The holiday fun starts Friday and continues through the month.

Friday, Dec. 2

Chow down on your favorite food with the main man of the season. Santa will be at the for pictures and a pizza party. Admission includes food and drink, crafts, a bounce house and, weather permitting, an outdoor candy cane hunt. $7 for residents, $10 for non-residents

Saturday, Dec. 3

Greet Santa as he arrives at Chestnut Court on a fire truck for a day of pictures and fun at . Parents can take pictures for free with their own cameras as their kids sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their Christmas wish.

Children will have the opportunity to add their own festive touch to the holiday dinner table by crafting a wooden snowman napkin holder at this free workshop.

Sunday, Dec. 4

Everyone knows to leave out cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. But sometimes the guy needs a snack before the big day. He’s stopping by for a cookie party, games, crafts and photos.

Join the City of Darien for the official kickoff to the holiday season. choirs will provide the entertainment as the tree outside lights up the night. Then warm up with hot chocolate while you tell Santa everything on your Christmas list.

Monday, Dec. 5

Darien Lions Club Food Basket Packing and Delivery

The Darien Lions will again celebrate the true meaning of the season by delivering baskets with all the fixings for a delicious holiday meal to local families in need. Join the Lions in their mission by donating nonperishable food items, or come to the to help pack and deliver the baskets on Dec. 16 & 17.

Tuesday through Thursday, Dec. 20-22

Cap off the pre-Christmas fun with the city of Darien’s Holiday Lights Tour. School buses will take residents on a trip from to see each of the winners of the annual decorating contest. Hot chocolate? Lights? Making friends with a bunch of strangers on a bus? Sounds like the holidays to me.
