Help Michael Fight Leukemia

Hi Everyone!!

I wanted to take a break from the craziness and let everyone know what my focus has been for a few weeks now.

I have a very good friend who is a single Dad of two (Michael, 9, Isabella, 10). He is self employed as well. Recently, Michael was diagnosed with T-Cell Leukemia. It's absolutely crazy. He was running around crazy with enough energy for a stadium of people, then within days he couldn't get out of bed. Between having to deal with Michael's surgeries and treatment schedules and keeping on top of things with Isabella, my friend has not been able to generate work, much less make the time for it. He is having huge issues with transportation, food and living expenses during this time. 

I have started a fund raising campaign through www.IndieGoGo.com to help with his expenses. He is currently trying to get public assistance and complete all the paperwork for that, but the process is a hard one. I am trying to raise enough money for two months of living expenses for him and his children. Michael is in the hospital and we ALL know what kind of expenses that mean...travel to the hospital, parking expenses (I still cannot believe hospitals actually CHARGE you to park in their garages!!! But that's another blog!!!), food while at the hospital and other expenses for him and Isabella. This family does not live in Darien, however, I was hoping the people of Darien could see their way to helping this family.
