Bathroom Break Leads to Charges for Darien Teen

Nineteen-year-old charged with alcohol consumption after neighbor reported him urinating publicly.

A Darien teen was caught with his pants down Saturday morning on the 6900 block of Wilmette in Darien—sort of.

Police were called to investigate after a neighbor allegedly spotted Christopher Maka, 19, of the 6700 block of Alabama Ave., urinating next to his car, police said.

When officers arrived, they found Maka standing next to his car, smelling of alcohol, according to the report.

Upon searching Maka’s car, officers found an open liquor bottle on the front seat, police said.

The teen admitted to drinking and a Breathalyzer test came back positive for alcohol, police said. The level, however, was lower than .08 percent, the report said.

Maka was charged with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor, police said. 

He is scheduled to appear in DuPage County Circuit Court on July 19.
