Borizov Sentencing Set for Mid-July

The convicted plotter of the 2010 triple-murder of a Darien family is expected to spend life in prison.

Johnny Borizov, 31, of Willow Springs, the convicted mastermind behind the murder of three members of a Darien family, will learn his fate in court on July 15, DuPage County Judge Daniel Guerin announced Thursday.

According to the Daily Herald, at the sentencing Guerin will also hear a defense motion for a new trial, with the defense team claiming that improper evidence was introduced and that jurors in the trial should have heard additional testimony and cross-examination.

A jury found Borizov guilty on all counts, including first-degree murder and solicitation of murder charges, on May 22 after a month-long trial; Borizov showed no emotion at the verdict.

The jury agreed that Borizov manipulated friend Jacob Nodarse into killing Jeffrey Kramer, his wife Lori and their son Michael in their Darien home in 2010. Borizov wanted the family to suffer after a child custody battle began with Kramer's daughter Angela, Assistant State's Attorney Bernie Murray said.

Borizov faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.
