Car Crimes: One Vehicle Stolen, One Vandalized, Five Burglarized

Sunday, June 12

Car theft

A 1997 Acura Integra parked on 1800 block of Gigi was taken sometime in the early morning hours, police said. The car was locked but there were no signs that robbers forced their way in, police said. The car is worth about $5,000. 

Two cars burglarized at one home

Burglars broke into two cars parked overnight in the driveway of a home on the 8000 block of Farmingdale, police said. A GPS unit and $7 were taken from the cars, for a total loss of about $257, police said. The cars may or may not have been locked, according to the report.

Stolen GPS

A GPS unit was taken from an unlocked car parked overnight in the driveway of a home on the 8100 block of Farmingdale, police said. The GPS was worth about $100. 

Friday, June 10

Car burglary

The sound of the garage door opening woke up a resident on the 1400 block of Sequoia around 2:30 a.m., police said. The unlocked driver’s side door of the resident’s car, which was parked in the driveway, was open, according to the report. Nothing was taken from either the car or the garage, police said.

Stolen radio

A satellite radio was stolen from a locked car parked on the 1500 block of Canterbury sometime between 5 p.m. June 4 and 2:45 p.m. Friday, police said. The value of the radio is unknown. 

Thursday, June 9

Car hood scratched

Vandals scratched the initials “DX” into the hood of a car parked on the 7600 block of Sussex Creek sometime between 10 and 11 a.m., police said. The scratches caused about $200 worth of damage to the car.
