Darien Police Warn Residents of Increase in Car Burglaries

The is reminding residents to be cautious in the wake of a string of car burglaries around the city.

Police reported 14 car burglaries in Darien during November. In most cases, the cars were unlocked.

The department reminds residents to hide or remove from their car valuables such as purses, laptops, laptop bags, GPS units, iPods, and any cradles or docks for electronics.

Roll up your windows and lock the doors when you leave your car.

If you don’t park your car in a garage, make sure it is in a well-lit location.

Finally, help out your neighbors by reporting any suspicious activity to 911.
