DuPage DUI Arrests, Sept. 29 Edition

CLARENDON HILLS

Sept. 21: Krystian Banadyk, 33, of the 7500 block of West Addison, Chicago, was charged with the following:

  • DUI
  • No valid driver's license
  • Displaying an expired registration license sticker

Banadyk was arrested at 4:37 a.m. on westbound Ogden Avenue at Oakwood Drive, according to police.

DOWNERS GROVE

Sept. 24: Joey A. Benefiel, of the 1000 block of Stockton Court, Aurora, was arrested at 10:27 a.m. on 31st Street west of Highland Avenue. Benefiel was charged with DUI drugs, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. His black GMC Terrain was towed from the scene to an impound lot, according to a police report. He was released on an I-bond and has an Oct. 30 court date in Wheaton.

Sept. 21: Charles A. Serb, of the 7600 block of Woodward Avenue, Woodridge, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. on the 5400 block of Main Street. Serb was charged with DUI alcohol, possession of cannabis, speeding and no insurance. His silver Lexus Ls400 was towed from the scene to an impound lot, according to a police report. He was released on an I-bond and has an Oct. 30 court date in Wheaton.

Sept. 20: Vismantas Danyla, of the 4200 block of Kedvale Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. on Belmont Avenue at Prairie Avenue. Danyla was charged with DUI alcohol, DUI alcohol with a BAC greater than .08, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid driver's license and improper lane usage. His white Mitsubishi Galant was towed from the scene to an impound lot, according to a police report. He was released on an I-bond and has an Oct. 23 court date in Wheaton.

Sept. 19: John R. Koklys, 30, of the 11200 block of Dineff, Lemont, was arrested at 2:28 a.m. at Stonewall and Grant. Koklys was charged with DUI alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device and no rear registration plate light. His white Hyundai Elantra was towed from the scene to an impound lot, according to a police report. He was released on an I-bond and has an Oct. 16 court date in Wheaton.

GLEN ELLYN

Sept. 6: William H. Heller, 42, of the 600 block of Euclid Avenue, Glen Ellyn, was charged with DUI and no taillights. Heller was arrested at 1:30 a.m. at Hawthorne and Main Street.

Sept. 4:

  • Eligio Lee Torres, 43, of the first block of Robinhood Way, Bolingbrook, was charged with the following:
  • DUI
  • Improper lane usage
  • Uninsured motor vehicle
  • Illegal transportation of alcohol

Torres was arrested at 11:22 p.m. at Route 53 and Sheehan.

  • Milena A. Tortorich, 38, of the 300 block of Amy Court, Glen Ellyn, was charged with the following:
  • DUI
  • Sign violation
  • Improper lane usage
  • Expired license plate

Tortorich was arrested at 5:16 p.m. at Western and Linden.

LEMONT

Sept. 22: Janusz Loboz, 49, of the 13900 block of Persimmon Drive, Orland Park, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. following a traffic stop at Archer Avenue and State Street. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and disobeying a stop sign. Loboz was issued an Oct. 24 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

Sept. 15: Byron J. Hood, 38, of the 900 block of Tucker Lane, Sanford, Fla., was arrested at 1:05 a.m. following a traffic stop at 127th and Walter streets. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. Hood was issued an Oct. 24 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

Sept. 13:

  • Edwin J. Jerzak, 53, of the first block of Cour Versaille, Palos Hills, was arrested at 11:43 p.m. following a traffic stop at McCarthy and Bell roads. He was charged with the following:
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Improper lane usage
  • Illegal transport of alcohol
  • No valid registration

Jerzak was issued an Oct. 24 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

  • James A. Connelly, 73, of the 600 block of Singer Avenue, Lemont, was arrested at 7 p.m. following a traffic stop at State and Custer streets. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and no insurance. Connelly was issued an Oct. 24 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

OAK BROOK

William Decero, 49, of the 5400 block of Washington Street, Downers Grove, was charged with one count of aggravated DUI involving death. Decero was arrested Sept. 23 after he was released from the hospital following a Sept. 22 single-car crash at Spring Road and Salt Creek Circle. Police and fire responded to the crash at 12:04 a.m. Decero’s passenger, a48-year-old Hinsdale man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
