Home Depot Hit with Two December Thefts
Two women were charged in separate incidents in which police said they tried to get cash for stuff they didn't buy.
Two women were charged—one with a felony—in separate shoplifting incidents at Home Depot on Dec. 21, said.
Nichole M. Wojtecki, 28, of the 600 block of Lynn Avenue in Romeoville, took more than $500 of merchandise from the store around 6:30 p.m., according to reports.
She planned to return her haul at a later date for store credit that she would sell for cash, police said.

The items she is accused of taking include a basin drain, two 30-amp circuit boxes, three circuit breakers, a 50-foot roll of copper wire, a box of nails and a poinsettia.
Wojtecki was charged with one count of felony retail theft for possessing more than $300 of merchandise and taken to DuPage County Jail, where she remains on $7,500 bond.

Around 4:10 p.m. the same day, police said store security saw Carolyn C. Olin, 49, of the 6100 block of Knoll Lane Court in Willowbrook, take three circuit breakers from a shelf and return them for store credit.
Security stopped her without incident and police issued her an ordinance citation with court dates pending.
