Man with Blood Alcohol Levels Three Times Legal Limit Reportedly Strikes Median on Route 83

An Indiana man who struck one median and drove over another raised one on Route 83 on June 21 had a blood alcohol content more than three times the legal limit, police said.

An off-duty police officer said he saw Travis L. Simpson, 24, of the 200 block of Yorktown Road in Logansport, IN, hit the median around 3:30 a.m.

Police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his pocket.

He was charged with two counts of DUI, cannabis possession, possession of drug equipment, driving with a suspended license and striking unattended property, according to the report.

After Simpson was processed, the report said he was driven to a nearby hotel. He was given an Aug. 3 court date.
