Map: Eight Cars Burglarized around Darien Last Week

The burglaries took place between Nov. 6 and 10, police said.

Thursday, Nov. 10

  • A burglar smashed a window and took a purse from a car parked in the XSport Fitness lot between 9 and 9:45 p.m., said. The purse held a driver’s license, a student ID, a debit card and several credit cards. The items and window were worth about $175. The credit card was used for more than $31 in purchases.
Wednesday, Nov. 9
  • Someone entered a vehicle parked on the 7200 block of Capitol between Nov. 7 and 9 and moved some things around, police said. Nothing was missing.
Monday, Nov. 7
  • A 90-pound jackhammer was stolen from a locked towable generator on the 1500 block of Darien Lake Drive sometime between Nov. 4 and 7, police said. The generator was worth about $1,000.
  • A GPS, an iPod and $10 in loose change were taken from an unlocked car parked overnight on the 7900 block of Stewart, police said. The items were worth about $290.
  • A Microsoft Zune was taken from an unlocked car parked overnight on the 1500 block of Lakeview, police said. The item was worth about $200.
  • A burglar took $2 in loose change from an unlocked car parked overnight on the 7200 block of Sunrise, police said.
Sunday, Nov. 6
  • Two unlocked cars parked on the 7800 block of Adams Street were burglarized overnight, police said. A GPS, credit card, $40 cash and a book of stamps were taken from the cars. The credit card was used for purchases on Walmart.com. The total loss was $691.65.
