Minor Snow-Related Accidents Reported Around Darien

Darien police just finished responding to an accident at Plainfield and 75th Street, Officer Nick Skweres said.

The has received reports of several minor accidents around the city today, most of which were related to the snow, Officer Nick Skweres said.

Officers recently left the scene of an accident at Plainfield Road and 75th Street, he said. That incident happened around 3:45 p.m., according to Mapquest traffic reports.

Reader Julie Johnston Stone told Patch via Facebook that she saw three accidents this morning while driving: a car jack-knifed across Lemont Road, a car in a ditch (also along Lemont Road) and a fender-bender on 75th Street.

Skweres reminded residents to be careful on the roads: Drive slowly and make sure to leave plenty of room between your car and the one in front of you. Also, he cautioned that four-wheel drive only means you can accelerate more quickly — not stop faster.
