The Woodridge Police Department is investigating an incident in which gunshots were fired Wednesday night in the 8000 block of Janes Avenue.
Police said they responded to the area around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses said a shot had been fired into the air after an argument broke out between two groups of people, according to reports.
They soon after found a suspicious car nearby around Natural Falls apartment complex and detained the vehicle's occupants for investigation, according to reports.

said Scott A. Rokita, 41, was arrested Tuesday on charges of residential arson, criminal damage to property, and two counts of unlawful violation of an order of protection.
According to police, the outside of Rokita’s mother’s garage was set on fire with accelerant at about 10 p.m. May 4 in the 500 block of Sharon Way. The Bolingbrook Fire Department responded to the home with an arson investigator.
A group of girls were photographed by an unknown white male at Fischel Park on May 13 around 5 p.m.
The girls said they were taking pictures of each other and noticed a flash come from the direction of the parking lot behind Emmet's Ale House and noticed a white male taking their photographs while sitting in his car. The girls left the park, went to Subway, and called police.
The man appeared to be in his 40s, driving an older model 4-door black car, possibly a Toyota Tercel. The girls said the man had parked his car facing them, had his door slightly ajar with one foot on the ground, and was hunched toward the steering wheel as if he were hiding behind it.
A man faces felony drug charges after discovered heroin in the driver’s side door of his car around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Officers found Ryan A. Nemec, 22, of the 00S400 block of Hill Road, asleep in his car on the 1000 block of Hinswood in Darien, the report said. He told police he had recently used heroin, which officers found in the driver’s side door, the report said. Drug test results are not yet available.
Police charged Nemec with felony possession of a controlled substance, as well as DUI, unlawful possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to DuPage County Jail where he has since been released on bond.
