No Injuries in House Fire on Seminole Drive in Darien

One person was home at the time the blaze broke out, fire officials said.

One person escaped without injury after heavy fire broke out in a home on the 7000 block of Seminole in Darien Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.

No one else was home when the fire began.

Personnel from 16 fire departments responded to the blaze, which started shortly after 5 p.m., Tri-State Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Paul Ross said.

As of 6:30 p.m., smoke was still coming out of a gaping hole in the roof of the house.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Tri-State Battalion Chief Jack Mancione said.
