Police: Accident Victim Follows Suspect's Car Home

The driver of a car struck near Bailey Road and North Frontage Road tailed the other car before calling police, according to reports.

A victim of what could have been a hit-and-run accident didn’t shrink back after another car struck his vehicle Wednesday in Darien, according to police.

After James C. O’Toole, 45, of the 8100 block of Chapman Court, hit the other car while turning from North Frontage Road onto Bailey Road, police said the driver followed O’Toole home. The did not release the victim’s name.

The driver called police, who arrested O’Toole and charged him with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of improper turning, according to the report. O’Toole is scheduled to appear in DuPage County Circuit Court on Feb. 7, police said.
