Police Blotter: 2 DUIs, 2 Busted Mailboxes

Sunday, Jan. 29

DUI on Cass

Kristy Marie Dowjotas, 32, of the 400 block of Sword Way in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 1:50 a.m. on the 6500 block of Cass Avenue, said. Officers said they saw her driving into oncoming traffic on Cass Avenue. Her breath smelled strongly of alcohol and she had red, glassy eyes, police said. Her blood alcohol levels were more than three times the legal limit, according to a Breathalyzer test. She was charged with DUI – over .08, DUI – physical control and improper lane usage.

Saturday, Jan. 28

Mailbox vandalism

A mailbox was knocked off its post between 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday on the 7100 block of High Road, police said. The mailbox was worth about $50.

Thursday, Jan. 26

DUI near Oldfield and Lakeridge

Monica E. McHale, 18, of the 8300 block of Cambridge in Downers Grove, was arrested around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Oldfield and Lakeridge, police said. Officers said they stopped McHale for speeding and driving erratically. Her breath smelled strongly of alcohol and she had red, glassy eyes, according to the report. She told the officers she had been drinking, police said. Her blood alcohol levels were more than .08, according to a Breathalyzer test. McHale was charged with DUI – over .08, DUI – physical control, speeding and improper lane usage, and given a Feb. 22 court date.

Wednesday, Jan. 25

More mailbox vandalism

A mailbox was knocked off its post between 2 p.m. Jan. 24 and 2:14 p.m. Jan. 25 on the 3100 block of Drover, police said. The mailbox was worth about $40.
