Saturday, March 5

DUI on Lemont Road

James V. Moccio, 49, of the 2400 block of Green Valley Road, was arrested around 1:40 a.m. on the 8100 block of Lemont Road, police said. Officers said they pulled Moccio over for erratic driving. Moccio was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and failure to signal, according to the report.

BB through window

A homeowner on the 6600 block of Ridge Road found a BB hole in his window between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., police said. The damage is estimated at $500.

Graffiti on bus

A vandal painted a yellow smiley face on the passenger side window of a Carefree Village bus parked at the retirement center, police said. The paint cause about $100 worth of damage.

Attempted store burglary

A burglar attempted to break in Le’s Nails by smashing the front door’s glass, but he was unable to get inside, police said. The damage to the door is estimated to be $200.

Cannabis possession

A 17-year-old Darien male was arrested around 5:10 p.m. on the 900 block of 79th Street, police said. Officers stopped the teen for speeding and said they smelled burning marijuana in the car. The teen was charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia, according to the report.

Theft from McDonald’s

An Asian man was seen stealing a life-size cardboard cutout of Bulls guard Derrick Rose from the McDonald’s on Plainfield Road, police said. The man loaded the cut out into a silver or gray SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, and pulled out of the lot, according to the report. The cutout is valued around $100.
