Sunday, March 11

Car burglary

A Sirius XM radio was stolen sometime between March 8 and March 11 from the dashboard of a car parked on the 7500 block of Country Lane, said. The radio was worth about $100.

Saturday, March 10

Retail theft

Maurice T. Fields, 42, of the 7400 block of Tennessee Drive in Willowbrook, was arrested around 10:40 a.m. at the Cass Avenue Jewel, police said. A store employee saw him take razor cartridges out of the store, according to the report. He got into a car as a passenger and left the scene, police said. Willowbrook police stopped the car at Route 83 and 55th Street in Willowbrook, according to the report. Witnesses identified Fields, police said. He was charged with two felony counts of retail theft and taken to DuPage County Jail. Police charged the driver with driving with a revoked license and without insurance.

Marijuana possession

Kamron Smith, 18, of the 00W500 block of Earl Court in Darien, was arrested around 8:50 p.m. on the 800 block of 79th Street, police said. Officers charged Smith with cannabis possession while responding to an anonymous call reporting a suspicious vehicle, according to the report.

DUI near Fairview and 75th Street

Cuitlahuac O. Velazquez, 53, of the 00S100 block of Mulberry Lane in Glen Ellyn, was arrested around 1:10 a.m. near the intersection of Fairview and 75th Street, police said. Officers said he stopped at a green light and then proceeded to drive erratically about 15 miles below the 45 mph speed limit. He told police he had been drinking, according to the report. A Breathalyzer test found he was above the legal limit of .08. Velazquez was charged with improper lane usage and two counts of DUI. He was given an April 17 court date.

Attempted burglary

A burglar tried to remove the locks overnight from the front doors at New China Buffet on Lemont Road, police said. The person wasn’t able to get into the restaurant but caused $250 in damage to the locks.

Friday, March 9

Pokemon theft

Two teens—one from Burr Ridge and one from Hinsdale—took $26.64 worth of Pokemon cards from the 75th Street Walmart around 6:45 p.m., police said. Officers cited them with retail theft on the scene and released them to their parents.
